Privacy Policy
Last updated: 15 September 2026
Kibble Cottage respects your privacy and only collects personal information needed to deal with enquiries, bookings and your stay.
Information we collect
When you make a booking request or contact us, we may collect:
- your name
- email address
- telephone number
- booking dates
- number of guests
- information you include in your message or booking request
- basic technical information generated when you use our website, such as your IP address
Our booking system stores booking-request information within this website’s WordPress database.
How we use your information
We use your information to:
- process and manage booking requests
- contact you about your booking
- provide information relating to your stay
- maintain accurate availability
- prevent duplicate bookings
- comply with legal, tax and accounting requirements
- maintain the security and operation of the website
We do not sell your personal information.
Airbnb and calendar synchronisation
Kibble Cottage uses calendar synchronisation with Airbnb to help maintain accurate availability.
Confirmed direct-booking dates may be shared through an iCal calendar feed so that those dates can be shown as unavailable on Airbnb. The booking system uses calendar feeds rather than Airbnb’s private API.
If you book through Airbnb rather than directly through this website, Airbnb’s own Privacy Policy applies to the information Airbnb collects and processes.
Who we may share information with
We may share personal information where necessary with organisations providing services required to operate the website or manage your booking, such as:
- website hosting and email providers
- booking and calendar systems
- payment providers, if online payments are introduced
- professional advisers or authorities where required by law
We only share information where there is a legitimate reason to do so.
How long we keep your information
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including any legal, accounting or tax requirements.
Unsuccessful enquiries and booking requests will not be retained indefinitely.
Cookies
This website may use cookies that are necessary for the website and booking system to function.
Where non-essential cookies such as analytics or marketing cookies are used, consent will be requested where required by law.
Your rights
Under UK data-protection law, you may have rights including:
- access to your personal information
- correction of inaccurate information
- deletion of information in certain circumstances
- restriction of processing
- objection to certain uses of your information
- data portability in applicable circumstances
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) if you believe your personal information has been handled incorrectly.
